How to set up Dom for scalping

In this article we will look at the basic doom settings for scalping

PreviousDOM Trader ColumnsNextFX Cell

Refresh rate of the Dom Trader

This setting affects how often the data will be updated in the Dom reader/ You need to experiment and find the optimal setting for your region.

Too frequent updates of Dom Trader can lead to significant delays in data processing if you have a weak computer

How to make more visible DOM levels

To begin with, set the number of levels to 100. You can set any value you want.

Change the font and font size in the general view settings

Next step is the set up Price Column font to arial 12 size.

Set up font arial and size of it 12 for Bid and Ask column

Now your Dom Trader should look like on the picture. Stretch the height of your Dom trader to the whole monitor and you will see all available information

How to set bid ask in one column

To set bid and ask over each other use split size colums setting. Close Panel DOM trader settings!

Note that after applying this setting, you must close the PANEL with settings and reopen it. You will see a new BID/ASK column - this will be the general settings for this column. You may have to edit these again to improve the readability of the DOM TRader

How to highlight large volumes in Dom trader

The essence of scalping is to see large orders in the stack and act in the context of the market situation. Let's take a look at how I set up the Dom. And so for that let's go to the column settings and select Bids and Asks. At first I remove the gradient setting it is a little uncomfortable for my eyes. I want to see contrasting volumes. Observe the Dom and choose really big volumes and specify that value in the settings

How to set coins quantity

Next, I specify my standard volumes for the trade. According to my money management I take the following shoulders 1, 2, 5,10, 20. It is very convenient to quickly change volume based on market situation.

For instant order management I use quick response panel and hotkeys/ I learned some hotkeys and use keyboard to trade. For example, I quickly close a position or flip a position from buying to selling.
